As part of our commitment to The Oakmont residents’ safety and well-being, we want to provide you with an important update regarding the Park Fire currently impacting the Chico, CA, area.
Our community is not currently under a mandatory evacuation order; however, we are prepared in the event that changes, and we have taken all precautionary measures to ensure our residents’ well-being during this time:
- All 72 residents are accounted for and prepared for a potential evacuation.
- Evacuation routes are in place with three route options and buses are on standby in the event they are needed.
- We are in close communication with local fire and police first responders. The Fire Department Battalion is located just two blocks north and has visited our community. Additionally, the local police department has also visited and is in communication with our executive director.
- To safeguard our community from potential fire risk, all sprinklers are on around the property.
- Shelter-in-Place Precautions: Our Team Members have taken all necessary steps to secure the community and ensure that common areas are safe. We are encouraging all residents to stay indoors and avoid going outside until local authorities have declared it safe to do so.
- Emergency Communication: We will maintain regular communication with residents and their families to provide updates on the situation. In case of any emergencies or immediate concerns, we will use the contact information we have on file to reach out to family members directly.
- Communication Channels: Please follow us on The Oakmont Senior Living’s Facebook page and continue to visit this page for the latest updates.
- Family Visits: We strongly advise against family visits at this time. We understand the importance of staying connected, and we encourage families to communicate with their loved ones through cell phone calls or video chats during this time.
